Perfectionism is lying to you

Hey guys! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I have to say, as I sit here tonight I don’t really feel like I have anything fun or special or witty to share. I’ve been staring at the white screen for awhile wondering which direction I wanted to go with my writing. I’ve started and deleted several things already. When I started this blog, I didn’t know what I would be sharing with you. I didn’t feel like I had any words of wisdom or anything to say, really. And I still somewhat feel that way, although I have Continue Reading →

Bluebonnets and Wrong Turns

This past weekend my husband and I traveled to Marble Falls, Texas to spend some time with my family. I always look forward to taking a trip to that part of Texas during this time of year. Spring brings out so many wild flowers all along the roads. It’s beautiful. There are bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes, spotted beebalms, pink buttercups, and a variety of yellow, lavender and white flowers. They line the roads and fill up the open fields with so much color. We passed a couple of fields just covered in lavender flowers this time and I really wish we Continue Reading →

He Is Risen. You Are Loved.

Yesterday was Easter Sunday, the day Christians celebrated the resurrection of Jesus, celebrated the empty tomb, celebrated a living Savior. A Savior who died to take pay for our sins. “But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.” (Matthew 28:5-6, ESV) As I scrolled through social media yesterday I saw over and over the phrase “He is Risen.” I even saved one of the photos so I could post Continue Reading →

Tiny Pebble, Big Distraction

We had some amazing weather this weekend. It is finally warming up and the sun was shining. I couldn’t wait to get outside on Saturday. I love going for long walks around town. It might seem strange, but it is so peaceful to just soak up the sun, get some miles in, sweat a little and enjoy the sounds. I spend most of my walks in prayer and just giving thanks for the many blessings in my life. My walks are often the times when I feel the closest to God. Maybe it’s because there are no people around, no Continue Reading →

A Rant: Don’t Disrespect My Husband

Read this experience that my husband and I had. Read my thoughts and feelings about it and let me know your feelings on the issue. This has really been eating at me all week so I thought I would share it in hopes to get some feedback from you guys. A week ago my husband and I made a trip to town together. I was going to get my nails done and while I did that he was going to play a round of virtual golf. I dropped him off, got my nails done and headed back to pick him Continue Reading →
